A City in Wartime – Dublin 1914–1918 by Pádraig Yeates
In the years 1914 to 1918 Dublin was utterly transformed. First, the Great Lockout of 1913 produced major consequences. Then the First World War saw a large number of men leave Dublin for the British Army - many of whom would never return. And finally the Easter Rising of 1916 meant that life in the city would never again be the same.
